If you purchased a full license key from us before July 2nd 2020, your license key is for the life of Luminant Music 2 and we continue to honor that.
We made a shift to a subscription model with the release of Luminant Music 2.5, but previous non-subscription keys will continue to work with Luminant Music 2 products.
We have heard from users about difficulty with Luminant Music accepting license keys after an upgrade, particularly from an older version like Luminant Music 2.3 or before.
Our Quality Assurance staff is investigating, but we so far we have not been able to reproduce this issue.
We have seen success with asking users to uninstall Luminant Music, and check the box "Remove Save Data". Then install the latest Luminant Music. The keys work at that point.
If you are still having problems, please feel free to contact us through this website or info@luminantmusic.com. We are glad to help.

.
Luminant Music was built to support single songs that are less than 15 minutes each in length. If you have the Grateful Dead’s 1978 Winterland Ballroom show as a single WAV file, it's probably not going to work; that show was six hours long. We are actively working to implement support for long tracks in a future release. In the meantime, many variables determine what will and won't work. If your computer has enough memory, you can probably play a one-hour track. Save your playlist before you try to add extra-long tracks, just in case, and keep an eye out for future releases to fix the problem entirely.
Luminant Music 3.x is currently available for iOS and Android devices.

Yes. Click the Main Menu button on the bottom left. Select Microphone. The performance of this feature may vary based on the quality of the microphone.
Render your video at 2k resolution or greater. If you are playing music with a fast beat, try rendering at a minimum of 60 frames per second.
This setting will keep Luminant Music displaying only one scene until you select another one, using the Scene Select tools at the top of the screen.
By default, Luminant Music’s Video Producer will produce a .WEBM file. You have the option to use an external encoder to produce a video in a different file type such as an MP4.
To encode to a different file type, you must add a command-line encoder and an encoderData.txt file to the StreamingAssets folder within the Luminant Music installation. One popular external encoder is the FFmpeg encoder (version 4.2.2). If you have already installed Luminant Music, follow these steps to add the FFmpeg encoder.
Luminant Music is safe. There is a known bug in MacOS X 10.14.5 that will erroneously produce the warning below. Please update your MacOS to 10.14.6 or later and try again. If you cannot update your MacOS, see the workaround below.
Luminant Music is safe. The simplest solution is to update your MacOS. See the question above for details. If you cannot update your MacOS, you can bypass the warning through the following steps:
Luminant Music is now saved in your security settings and can be opened normally.
If you receive this error message and know that it is incorrect, upgrade to the most recent version of Luminant Music to fix the issue. This issue was resolved in version 2.3.2.
Video Producer uses the open-source WEBM video codec by default, and encoding is quite slow. Because of the way the internal encoder works, Video Producer may seem stalled at 32%, 89%, or at a similar point in the process, but it’s simply that the encoding process is slow.
To remedy this problem, you can try a couple of strategies. The default number of threads processed at one time is two, but this can be increased in the SETTINGS tab of the Video Producer. We recommend changing this setting to nine. Keep in mind the performance of your computer may hinder this setting. For instructions on accessing this tab in the Video Producer, see the Video Producer User Guide.
An even faster option is to install and use an external video encoder in addition to raising the number of threads. An external encoder can render directly to MP4 and can be much faster than the default encoder included with Luminant Music. For instructions on installing and using an external encoder, see the FAQ in the SETTINGS section of this Support page.
You should first render your video at a low resolution to see if it looks the way you want. Low resolution videos should render quickly. Once you know your video looks the way you want, render again in stunning 4k quality, but keep in mind it could possibly take a few hours to render.
